Mail Route and Polly’s Hill
Lookout Adventure
Follow in the tracks of the hardy folks and their dogs who endured a multitude of hardships to deliver the mail overland from Rattling Brook to Middle Arm in the days before modern transportation and a road connecting to the outside world. The Mail Route from Rattling Brook to Middle Arm also offers access to Polly’s Hill – one of the best vistas overlooking Southwest Arm.
On the return to Rattling Brook, you will be treated to a visit to an old General Store, packed with antiques and artifacts from the past. You’ll also get to meet the store owner, Dulcie Toms, who loves to greet guests and share stories!
Following your hike, you can satisfy your hunger with a traditional meal for the mailman, Beans and Toutons served at our partners, Bye The Sea Cafe in King’s Point.

5 km along a traditional dog team mail delivery route (including photo stops, and a hydration/snack stop at Polly’s Hill.

Clients will meet their guide at the very end of Rattling Brook (Route 391), at the entrance to the Caribou Trail.
The hike includes a hydration and snack break on route (pack along your desired snack and liquid non-alcoholic refreshment).
Hiking footwear and layered clothing are suggested, as well as a hat, sunscreen, and bug repellent.

Harry’s Harbour Heritage
Tour with a View
Take a hike through time and imagine life in five resettled communities occupying small coves close to traditional fishing grounds near Harry’s Harbour. Meander along a traditional roadway across meadows that were once a playground for frolicking children, through forests that leave you dreaming of fairies, and to astounding cliff-top vistas offering a panoramic view of Green Bay. Relax on driftwood-littered “beaches.” The experience also offers interactions with wildlife, whale sightings, icebergs (in season), beach glass and driftwood collection and constant sounds of the ocean.
The heritage experience is enhanced by a visit with Mr. Harry Upward, a lifelong resident of the area with a flair for storytelling and memory sharing. Learn about some of the traditional ways of life from a man who lived it!

See a dramatic mountain landscape of glacier-carved gorges, lush valleys, streams, waterfalls and marshes. Visitors can stop and relax at rest areas and scenic vistas along the trail, boardwalk along wet areas and steps in steep areas throughout the entire trail.
Rattling Brook Falls
Hiking Trail
This trail has an 800-ft. waterfall overlooking the entrance to the picturesque community of Rattling Brook. Watch in awe as Rattling Brook tumbles over mountainous granite into a pool of springwater.
Oceanview
5km Walking Trail
Stand on the rugged cliffs of Langdon's Cove to see whales, seals, icebergs and many species of seabirds, including eagles and osprey. See the many spectacular geological coastal formations such as The Arch.
